Implant Treatments (Dental Implantoloji)

Alanya-Implant-Treatments

Implants should generally be considered as the primary treatment method in partial or total tooth deficiencies in dentistry.

Modern implant applications have been applied successfully for more than 50 years.

In our clinic, brands that have proven their age in the world are preferred.

Implant Application; It is an artificial tooth root placed in the toothless jawbone to replace missing teeth. Implant is produced from titanium or its alloys. It is a material that is resistant to bite forces and has high tissue compatibility thanks to its special coating.

What are the benefits of implants?

  • Neighboring teeth are not touched since preparation is not required for supporting teeth.
  • Since there is not enough support tooth, we are not limited to only removable prostheses.
  • It reduces physiological bone resorption as it acts like a tooth root inside the alveolar bone.
  • In cases of total edentulism, especially in cases where there is not enough support tissue in the lower jaw, the stability of the prosthesis is difficult, it provides stability close to the fixed prosthesis.
  • In some patients, it provides self-confidence by preventing psychological rejection in removable prostheses.
  • Since it acts like a tooth root, it is accepted more quickly by the patient because it is closer to nature.

Frequently Asked Questions About Implant Treatment Process

In which cases can implant be applied?

  • Situations where all teeth in the lower and upper jaw are lost
  • Situations where a single tooth is lost
  • It is applied in all tooth deficiencies starting from a single tooth deficiency to all tooth deficiency.

How long does implant placement take and will there be pain during placement?

  • Placement of a single implant may take 5-30 minutes. This period may increase slightly as the number of implants increases.
  • Thanks to the anesthesia applied before the implant, the implant placement process is completed without feeling pain. If you have pain after the anesthesia starts to wear off, it is usually sufficient to use simple painkillers.

How long do implants last?

Implant applications are rarely failed (implant success rates in the world are around 95%).

After the implant-bone fusion (Osseointegration) occurs without any problems, you can use your implants like your own teeth if you continue your oral care.

Can dental implant be applied to every patient?

Since the implant screws have a certain width and height, the jawbone, where it will be applied, must also have a certain height and width.

If the bone tissue is not in sufficient volume, "grafting", which is an advanced surgical technique, can be made suitable for implant treatment by reinforcing the tissue or performing sinus lifting treatment.

The quality of the existing bone also directly affects the success of the treatment. As long as the general health condition of the patient is good, there is no upper age limit that can prevent dental implant application.

What is important here is that systemic disorders (such as diabetes, some cardiovascular diseases) are under control. In these cases, dental implant treatments can be performed with doctor's consultation.

In which cases and when is implant done?

Lack of teeth brings many aesthetic and functional problems.

Inability to chew effectively and gastrointestinal problems as a result; Joint pains that will occur as a result of disruption of the closing plane and unbalanced load on the jaw are some of them.

In addition, due to the aesthetic problems and speech disorders that may occur, the self-confidence of the people is also negatively affected. That's why dental implants; It is an ideal treatment option for patients who have lost their teeth for any reason.

Who can and cannot implant implant?

Implant treatment has a very high success rate in individuals who have good general health, have no problem in terms of gum health, bone density and amount, and who do good oral care. In cases where the amount of bone is not sufficient in these individuals, implant application is performed after increasing the amount of bone with advanced surgical procedures.

People under 18 years of age who smoke heavily, have uncontrolled diabetes or heart conditions, have severe bone resorption, have received radiation therapy to the head / neck region and have not completed growth development are not suitable for implant application. After the detailed evaluation is made by the physician, the final decision is made.

Will I feel pain during implant construction?

Since gingival and bone can be anesthetized very effectively with local anesthesia, no pain is felt during implant surgery. The feeling of vibration and pressure that will not disturb the opening of the gum and the placement of the implant is normal.

How many parts does an implant consist of?

Dental implant; It consists of three parts: the body, which is placed into the bone with a sterile surgical procedure, the superstructure part called the abutment where the implanted prostheses are placed, and the screw that fixes these two parts together.

When is the implant prosthesis part placed?

After the implants are placed in the bone, they enter a healing phase where they fuse with the jawbone.

The duration of this phase, called osseointegration, varies between 3 and 6 months, depending on factors such as the patient's age, health, bone quality, and whether the application is performed on the lower or upper jaw.

When the bone fusion phase is over, the implants are ready for the masticatory forces on them. At this stage, the prosthesis is measured and the superstructure is completed in a period of 1 to 2 weeks.

In some applications, when appropriate conditions are provided, the day the implants are placed, fixed or removable temporary prosthesis can also be placed in the mouth.

How is an implant done?

Implant surgery consists of several different stages depending on the condition of the area to be applied and the type of prosthesis to be made. In cases where advanced surgery is not required, standard application is performed in two stages.

First, with a sterile surgery performed under local anesthesia, the gum is removed and a dental implant of appropriate diameter and length is placed in the pre-planned area. When necessary, limited bone surgery or bone grafting procedures can be performed at this stage. However, in cases where the amount of bone is very insufficient, bone augmentation should be performed with a separate surgery at least 4 months before the implant is placed.

In the second stage; After enough time (3-6 months) for the implant to fuse with the bone (osseointegration), the implant prosthesis procedures are started with the placement of the upper structure parts of the implant. In full chin or aesthetic area implant applications, under appropriate conditions, upper temporary prosthesis or temporary coating can be placed in the same session without waiting for osseointegration.

How much are the implant prices?

Different pricing is made according to the brand of the implant to be used and the condition of the bone in the area to be implanted, and the patients are informed by the physician during the examination.

What material is the implant material made of?

Dental implants are made of titanium or its alloys. Titanium is one of the most compatible (biocompatible) materials used in orthopedics and hip prostheses.

Is it necessary to pay attention to implant cleaning?

Tissues around the implant are more susceptible to gum disease than the tissues surrounding natural teeth. Bleeding and swelling of the gums encountered by natural teeth, melting of the jaw bone and loss of teeth can also be seen in the implanted areas.

In order to prevent this, what should be done is not to disrupt the routine oral care, and even to support oral hygiene with additional interface brushes, mouth showers, mouthwashes according to the type of prosthesis.

Not smoking and keeping the general health condition under control is also very important for keeping the tissues around the implant healthy. In addition, people using implants should see their dentists for a general check every 6 months.

How many implants are made to a person who has no teeth?

In case of total edentulism, 4 implants are used for each jaw, for all on four treatment, and 6-8 implants for traditional full jaw implantation, according to the treatment protocol.

How long is the life of the implant?

As long as the gingiva and jawbone around the implant are in good health, a dental implant with a proper superstructure does not have a defined life. As long as it is healthy and used within its limits, it can stay in the mouth for life.

Can my teeth be removed and my implants made and my teeth fitted in one day?

In case certain conditions are suitable, extraction, implantation and temporary prosthesis procedures can be performed on the same day. The final decision is made by the physician after evaluating many factors such as the absence of an existing common infection, the high bone density, the habit of clenching teeth and smoking, the load balance and design of the prosthesis.

Generally, it is applied in full chin implantation and anterior region aesthetic applications.

Are there any differences between implants?

Implants are classified in different quality groups as the content of the alloy used, surface coatings and component compatibility. In addition, there are many types of implants prepared for special purposes in terms of design. Your dentist will decide which is appropriate as a result of detailed analysis.

How long should I rest?

Generally, it is sufficient to rest on the day of surgery.
